BlackLight Company  Uniform & Standardization Regulations

For the purposes of professionalism, standardization, team recognition, and esprit de corps, the members of BlackLight Company (BLC) believe that standardization of uniforms and equipment would be beneficial to our objectives as a team.  Below are the guidelines that have been set forth by the leadership and members of BLC.

    I.  Uniform -

The official uniform of BLC is the US Army Combat Uniform (ACU).  However, any of the all-terrain uniforms from a variety of companies are acceptable as long as the color scheme and pattern match the Army ACUs.

    - Cover - Cover, whether it is a hat, helmet, or Du Rag, it is not required to be worn by BLC members.  However, for the purposes of camouflage and standardization, if some variation of cover is to be worn it should match the ACU pattern, or at the very least be Olive Drab Green (OD).

    - ACU Blouse - Members of BLC are not required to wear the official Army ACU blouse. However, if a blouse is not worn, an ACU T-Shirt with either long or short sleeves must be worn in its place.  For convenience, it may also be helpful to sew Velcro on your upper sleeves(if it isn’t already there) to make transitioning between patches quick and painless.

    - Undershirt - Undershirts must be either be ACU, OD Green, Black, or Brown.   However, only the ACU T-Shirt may be worn on its own and need not have the BLC patch affixed to the left sleeve.

    - ACU Pants - The only requirement for pant is that they be the Army ACU pattern.

    - Footwear - There is no requirement for certain footwear.  However, a tan suede boot is recommended for safety and comfort, along with little or no maintenance.

II.  Tactical Vests & Other Tactical Accessories -

There is no official vest of BlackLight Company.  The decision of which vest to purchase or even to purchase a vest at all is left to the individual player.  This is so to suit each individuals own personal, and playing needs.

    - Tactical Vest/Harness - If a vest or harness is to be worn, it must either be OD Green, or ACU.  However, there are circumstances where vests can be worn that do not meet these criteria.  For example, the use of a Double Trouble can and will become an issue if a vest cannot sustain or carry enough paint and air for the marker.  In these types of circumstances, it is acceptable to wear a vest that does not comply with the aforementioned rules.

    - Tactical Accessories - Accessories such as tank pouches, and pod pouches, knee pads, etc., must also be either OD Green, or ACU, but need not match your vest.

    III.  Patches -

Patches can add morale, unity, and most importantly recognition for your team.  There are few, if any patches in paintball that are more recognizable and respected than the yellow and black of the BlackLight Company Team patch.

    - BLC Patch - The BLC patch is to be worn on the left sleeve of your uniform.  The yellow patch is to be considered our garrison patch and is not to be worn while playing.  The subdued BLC patch is also to be worn on the left sleeve, but can be adorned at anytime.  BlackLight patches are to be worn with pride, and members are to conduct themselves accordingly once you dawn the yellow and black.  Remember, other players will be watching.

    - American Flag - There is no requirement to at this time, but if players wish to wear an American Flag, the Red, White, and Blue may be worn exactly like the BLC garrison patch.  When on the field though, the subdued flag must be worn.  In addition to the preceding rules, when wearing a flag, the stars must be at the front edge of the uniform with the stripes pointing behind the individual.  This symbolizes BlackLight Company perpetually moving forward and keeping our “noses in the wind”.  However, the flag may be worn on either sleeve.

    - Colorado Flag - BlackLight Company was founded in Colorado, and our namesake comes from the rich mining history of the state and the use of black lights to find precious metal.  If a BLC member chooses to wear the Colorado flag, either garrison, or subdued, the patch must be orientated to symbolize BlackLight Company perpetually moving forward and keeping our “noses in the wind”.  However, the flag may be worn on either sleeve.

    - Nameplates - Nameplates must be affixed on your BDU Blouse.  The nameplate on the left side of your chest should read “BLC”, or BlackLight Company, and the nameplate on the right side of your chest should read “your name”, for an example  we‘ll use our elder statesman “Auger”.

    - In addition to nameplates on your ACU blouse, it is also helpful and encouraged to have your name at the very least on the front of your vest, if not on both the front and the back.  This however is not a requirement.

    - Morale Patches - Morale patches are patches that are not required to be worn.  Each individual may choose to wear any patch of their choice or to wear nothing at all.  However, if a morale patch is to be worn, they must be worn on the right sleeve.

    IV. Additional Rules -

    - These Regulations are in effect immediately upon posting unless otherwise noticed.

    - New Members must be in compliance within 3 months of joining the ranks of BlackLight Company.  If 3 months have elapsed, and members are still not in compliance with the following rules, said members will not be allowed to team register, for scenario play.

    - Members who adorn ghillie suits for play are exempt from these rules and need only concern themselves with camouflaging themselves with the environment, but must be in compliance when entering the playing field minus the ghillie.

    - The Members of BLC may deem that alternate uniforms are necessary for certain scenario events in order to successfully fulfill a character or team role in the scenario.
